Amisa Rashid
Amisa Rashid is a counseling psychologist, mediator, and advocate for mental health and community resilience. As Founder and Executive Director of Nivishe Foundation, she leads trauma-informed programs that empower individuals and communities affected by violence and adversity. Amisa champions inclusivity, pioneering mental health services in sign language as the first community mental health expert with EnableMe. Her work has earned global recognition, including selection as Kenya's sole participant in the 2021 Orygen Global Fellowship, the African Youth of the Year award, and ambassadorships with One Young World and Theirworld. Beyond clinical practice, she shapes policy as a board member for SIASA PLACE, YWLI, and Co-Chair of RHIZE, among others. As a One Young World and Theirworld ambassador, she amplifies mental health advocacy globally. She dedicates time mentoring young women through Kamilimu, Akilidada, and Akirachix, nurturing tomorrow's leaders in STEM and governance.
