Tuning In: What to expect at the 2025 Shamiri Summit
This November, Nairobi becomes the stage for bold ideas and radical collaboration at Shamiri Summit 2025. Under the theme “Wires & Signals,” we’ll explore how technology, policy, and community can carry not just data, but the vital signals of care, connection, and hope. Here’s your guide to what’s ahead.
Why this summit matters now
The annual Shamiri Summit is back! This year, we are tackling the question, “Can the systems we build carry the signals that help humanity thrive?”. Mental health challenges are rising across the globe, especially among young people. At the same time, technology and AI are reshaping decisions, relationships, and futures. Institutions everywhere are stretched thin yet brimming with potential to evolve toward equity and care. The theme Wires & Signals invites us to examine how we design, deploy, and scale systems of care that are not just efficient, but deeply human.
This year’s program brings both returning favorite tracks and introduces two new tracks: Education and Technology, to tackle the theme through two critical factors in youth mental health.
Tracks to watch
Here’s what you can expect from the tracks:
- Doers Track: On-the-ground innovators and community practitioners reshaping care delivery through workshops, implementation stories, and case studies.
- Policy & Systems Track: Governments, ministries, and institutions on big ideas on building equitable systems and embedded with mental health considerations.
- Science Track: cutting-edge research, RCTs, and data. Hosted by Shamiri researchers and global partners.
- Education Track (New!) : How schools and learning spaces can become engines of wellbeing.
- Tech Track (New!): Digital tools, AI, and product innovation pushing the boundaries of mental health.
