Shalom M. Ndiku is the Head of Policy and Partnerships at Food4Education. There, he leads the organization’s external-facing functions, including government relations, policy, partnerships, impact and communications. He is a seasoned policy, legal and sustainability expert with vast experience shaping educational, environmental, climate, corporate social responsibility programs and policy research.
Shalom was previously at Conservation International as the Policy Director for Africa, focused on addressing climate change-related challenges through policy on the continent. For five years, he worked for the Thomson Reuters Foundation and led the delivery of its legal pro bono service, TrustLaw, in Africa. Prior to that, Mr. Ndiku was an environmental lawyer with indigenous communities during his time as a Project Manager for Natural Justice and Research and Policy Advisor for the Friends of Lake Turkana, focusing on extractives and oil exploration, land and land-based investments, coal-power plants, and large infrastructure projects. Prior to that Shalom worked for a law firm in Nairobi that focused on public administration and constitutional law.
He holds a degree in Organizational Psychology from Helderberg College, as well as a Law degree from the University of Cape Town, both in South Africa. He also has Executive Certificates from Columbia University and Harvard University on Extractives and Sustainable Development, and on Public Leadership, respectively.
