Julia Greenland

Julia Greenland is Managing Director: Africa for the Healthy Brains Global Initiative. She leads on the development implementation of outcome-based mental health programming in Africa.

She has recently joined HBGI after 7 years in the Kenya office of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, where she was most recently a director in the Girl Capital team. At CIFF, she designed and managed a substantial portfolio of investments in the health and empowerment of African girls, and lead on the development and negotiation of two Development Impact Bonds for Adolescent Reproductive Health. Previous to CIFF, Julia spent a decade on the front lines of service delivery with Marie Stopes International, with roles in Kenya, Papua New Guinea and Uganda.

She holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the Said Business School, Oxford University.  She is a trained Executive Leadership Coach. She lives in Nairobi with her husband and two young daughters.
