Nasri Omar is working with the Ministry of Health Kenya as the focal person for Workplace Mental Wellness and Suicide Prevention. Nasri has a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and a Master of Science in Global Mental Health. She has been actively involved in policy and strategy formulation at the national level. Nasri also coordinated the Kenya Mental Investment Case, a project co-led with the WHO-UNDP joint programme. This has enabled the country to develop coordinated and cost national responses based on findings from cost-effective interventions with high return on investments. At regional level, Nasri sits on the advisory board for Africa CDC on NCDs, Injuries and Mental Health. Globally, Nasri sits on the advisory board of the Center for Global Mental Health at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her strength lies with policy making, stakeholder engagements and coordination of national mental health projects.
